  • Peter Kapp

    Chair | Brunswick 22’ | gkapp@brunswickschool.org

My name is Peter Kapp and I am a Co-Chair of the FSYC for the 2021-2022 school year. I'm a senior at Brunswick School and I joined the FSYC as a sophomore. As a chair, it is a pleasure to work with the board members to take their ideas for a better Greenwich and help convert them into a successful project. I have been involved in various projects in the past three years, from fundraising for college scholarships to a middle school STEM fair to SafeRides. Currently, I am working to host a 5k run to fundraise for many of the FSYC projects.

I look forward to the rest of a successful and exciting year with the FSYC!

  • Prathit Kurup

    Chair | Greenwich High School 22’ | prathitkurup@gmail.com

I’m Prathit and I am a senior at Greenwich High School. I have been on the Youth Commission for the past three years and I have worked on a variety of projects. Currently, alongside Lauren, I am leading our newest initiative to develop a Junior FSYC to connect middle school students across Greenwich. Last year I was in charge of launching our first annual Greenwich STEM Fair. My favorite part of being on the Youth Commission is being able to work with really talented and motivated students across town.

  • Lauren Harteveldt

    Chair | Greenwich Academy 22’ | lharteveldt@greenwichacademy.org

My name is Lauren Harteveldt and I am a Co-Chair of the FSYC senior at Greenwich Academy. This is my fourth year on the First Selectman’s Youth Commission, and my time on the commission has been a highlight of my high school experience. During this period I have initiated several projects including a presentation of the vaping epidemic (Hidden in Plain Sight), The Greenwich Student Diversity Leadership Conference (2021 and 2022), and the launch of the Junior First Selectman’s Youth Commission.

  • Tomas Jasson

    Vice-Chair | Brunswick 23’ | tjasson@brunswickschool.org

My name is Tomas Jasson and I am the Vice-Chair of the FSYC for the 2021-22 school year. I am a Junior at Brunswick School in Greenwich. I joined the FSYC my Sophomore year. Over the past two years, I have been involved with joint projects between Greenwich Together and the FSYC, a soccer clinic (which was canceled due to Covid), a 5K race for the Spring along with Chair Peter Kapp, and more. Working with the FSYC has been a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to working with the board this year and next year.

  • Mary Hawthorn

    Vice-Chair | Sacred Heart Greenwich 22' | hawthorn-kanosm@cshct.org

My name is Mary Hawthorn and I am a senior at Sacred Heart Greenwich! This is my second year on the FSYC and I am a Vice-Chair on the Executive Board. I love working on so many different projects, but my favorite was my yard sign project I spearheaded last year. The goal of this project was to raise money for Greenwich Hospital and promote unity within the town. The project was a great success and I am so excited for all that is to come this year on FSYC!

  • Eva Anderson

    Vice-Chair | Greenwich High School 22’ | eva.andersen@greenwichschools.org

My name is Eva Andersen; I'm a senior at Greenwich High School and am currently serving as Vice-Chair on the FSYC. I joined the Youth Commission last year, assisting with a number of projects and also running my own, in which students from around Greenwich submitted artwork commenting on social justice issues they were passionate about. Receiving works from 25 students of different ages who attended a variety of schools across Greenwich, it was amazing to see the diversity of issues and unique perspectives that were presented. This year, I hope to work on an initiative to spread knowledge about interacting with the deaf community among elementary schoolers, and am excited to work alongside the rest of the Executive Board to guide the work of our other commissioners!
